Property For Sale in Switzerland – Swiss Property For Sale
In the valley of Anniviers, a unique set of attics/barns to renovate. Each one, several hundred years old, will be rehabilitated into second homes with all the necessary comfort, but above all with the greatest respect for their history and their architecture.
The village of Saint-Jean is often cited among the most beautiful villages in Switzerland. Located in Valais in the Annviers valley, the village of Saint-Jean is 3 km from Grimentz and enjoys a privileged location and environment. From the whole village, the view over the valley floor, over the Zinalrothorn (4221m) and the Besso (3667m) is simply breathtaking. The hamlet to be renovated is suspended on the upper ridge of Saint-Jean d´en-Haut and enjoys 360 ° views. The paved road ends 20m after the building complex, which gives it unobstructed access throughout the winter and virtually no vehicle traffic. The village is connected to the Grimentz-Zinal ski resort and is connected to it by a ski slope (ski-in / ski-out).
The hamlet is located at the top of Saint-Jean d´en-haut, forming the last built-up area in the village at around 1,500 m above sea level. It consists of a chalet which dominates the whole village and at its feet, 2 granaries and 7 barns. The plots are located in the “village zone” and the place listed as a site of national importance. Each of the buildings is in the inventory of buildings worthy of protection. These two elements give all these “rustic” the possibility of receiving the status of second homes, outside the constraints of the Lex Webber.
A request for authorization to renovate was filed in October 2016 after receiving a favorable opinion from the various cantonal and municipal services. We had to request a suspension of the investigation because the canton of Valais asked all municipalities to update their inventories of buildings worthy of protection. All the buildings of the project are in this new inventory of the municipality of Anniviers and they are in the village zone. The inventory was approved at the end of 2020 and the authorities will soon be able to issue the permit to renovate into second homes.
