The chalet is located just a couple of minutes drive of the lift/piste at Les Masses. This is the less busy and more traditional end of the 4 Valleys ski system with over 400 km of piste and over 100 lifts, and has direct access to Verbier among other popular Valaisan ski resorts, which offer Skiing/Snowboarding for all abilities with marked pistes, loads of off-piste and marked routes for the more adventurous. You can ski to Verbier, Nendaz, or Veysonnaz and be back in time for afternoon tea. Les Masses, Les Collons & Thyon are less busy at peak times ie, Christmas, New Year and half-term than many other areas.

Many of the lifts also operate in the summer linking hundreds of kilometres of mountain bike tracks and hiking paths. Sion - c. 20 minutes away from the chalet, is the oldest town in Switzerland located in the heart of Valais, which really does offer something for everyone from sun drenched vineyards to snow capped mountains, pure mountain air a place where the sun reins supreme for more than 300 days a year. The area has all the charm that traditional Switzerland can offer, you gaze down over the larch forests with delightful chalets dotted around the slopes and the church spires in quaint villages on the other side of the valley.

The traditional village of Hérémence is 2 km below and has all the amenities you would expect including cash point, post office, butchers and a grocery store. Les Masses is 500m away, with its restaurant/bar, tourist office and a mini supermarket. Les Collons is an 8-minute drive away, where there are a couple of good restaurants and bars, ski hire shop, supermarket and tourist office.
